Updated Guidance for Respiratory Viruses

On March 1, 2024, the CDC updated its guidance for how people can protect themselves and their communities from respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. The information on these pages will be updated soon to reflect the latest CDC information. The updated guidance is intended for community settings. There are no changes to respiratory virus guidance for healthcare settings.

On Feb. 28, 2024, the CDC recommended that adults age 65 and older receive an additional updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose.

On Sept. 12, 2023 the CDC recommended an updated COVID-19 vaccine for the fall/winter virus season.

On May 11, 2023, the federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration ended. Tools like vaccines, treatments and testing remain available.

The Board continues to strongly recommend eligible individuals be vaccinated against COVID-19 and follow public health guidance.
