Flu Reports

Kansas regulations do not require health care providers to notify the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment when a patient is diagnosed with influenza. Instead, influenza activity is voluntarily reported to JCDHE by family practice physicians, emergency departments, student health centers, pediatric offices and other healthcare providers in Johnson County. Providers may use this form to report their influenza activity to JCDHE.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment provides influenza surveillance and wastewater monitoring for respiratory viruses in Kansas. The Kansas Syndromic Surveillance Program provides data on respiratory-related visits in the state of Kansas. Click on the "Filter by Patient Region" menu at the top and choose Johnson County for local data on respiratory-related visits.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides the Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report.

Reports from the following influenza seasons are not available due to the COVID-19 pandemic response: 2020-2021, 2021-2022

If you need reports from previous years, please send your request to jcdhe@jocogov.org.
