The County Appraiser discovers, lists and values all taxable property within the county. Provides equalization of all such properties to ensure fair taxation.   

The state closely monitors counties for their accuracy in valuing property. Johnson County has consistently been found to be in compliance with the state requirements since 1992 when the state directive was issued. 

Due to COVID restrictions, the Appraiser’s Office will not be conducting in-person appeals. Until further notice, all real property appeals will be heard by telephone or based on evidence.  The Appraiser’s Office is following County Resolution 002,-22.
