The Department of Emergency Services includes operations in Emergency Communications, Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services for the Johnson County area.
Our Emergency Communications division manages countywide emergency communication systems and dispatch services. They are responsible for the processing of emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance received on E911 (Enhanced 911) and 10-digit phone lines. Emergency Communications dispatches Fire and EMS in Johnson County and EMS in Miami County.
The Emergency Management Division serves as the county’s designated disaster response agency and emergency operations center, with responsibility for all disaster and response coordination across the county.
MED-ACT is our Emergency Medical Services division, where we ensure medical emergencies in Johnson County have the best possible outcome. We excel in creating a continuum of out-of-hospital medical care, a prepared community and a community-wide feeling of safety and confidence. We partner with our communication and emergency management divisions to create a comprehensive emergency system.
