Housing Services

Johnson County Housing Services is a division of Planning, Housing and Community Development and adheres to the provisions in the Federal Fair Housing Act of 1968 which provides protections for tenants, homeowners and landlords who are looking to rent, buy, sell or finance an apartment or home. 

Additionally, JCHS follows the guidance provided by the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. The mission of the FHEO is to eliminate housing discrimination, promote economic opportunity and achieve diverse, inclusive communities by leading the nation in the enforcement, administration, development and public understanding of federal fair housing policies and laws. FHEO protects people from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability and familial status.
