The mission of the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is to advocate for and assist older adults in maintaining their independence and dignity through community-based services. The AAA targets services to older adults with the greatest social and economic needs and provides a variety of support services for caregivers

Commission on Aging
2024 Commission on Aging Members
The Commission on Aging is a voluntary group of individuals appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The COA provides information, guidance, advice and support to the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging and serves as a liaison to the BOCC concerning the needs of older county residents and services to meet those needs.
The Johnson County Commission on Aging seeks candidates for its 2024 Peg Deaton Leadership in Aging Award. The Peg Deaton Leadership in Aging Award recognizes community volunteers — individuals or organizations who have made outstanding contributions to enhancing the quality of life for older adults and their families in Johnson County. COA will present the award in the fall of 2024.
