Johnson County Wastewater operates as a department within Johnson County government, reporting directly to the Deputy County Manager under the direction of the County Manager and the Board of County Commissioners. Emergency Phone Numbers
To report a sewer backup, odor, or any other problem that requires immediate attention, please call Johnson County Wastewater's Emergency Line at 913-715-8600 and Low pressure sewer issues emergency line at 913-715-1777. Our Operations staff is available 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year, to provide assistance.
Charges from Johnson County Wastewater pay for the safe and efficient transportation of wastewater from your home or business and the treatment of that water before returning it to area streams, lakes, and rivers. Residential customers are billed for sanitary sewer service every two months and commercial customers are billed monthly. The current wastewater user charge is $8.07 per 1,000 gallons. In 2020, a median JCW residential customer will be billed $81.76 bimonthly ($40.88 per month) to collect, transport, and treat about 8,000 gallons of wastewater.

Are you a new customer, moving to a new residence and need service in your name? Please fill out our New Service Request Form.
2. Do you want to discontinue service?
If you are moving out of your home and out of the Johnson County Wastewater service area and you need to cancel service at either your old service or current service location, please complete the Cancel Service Request Form.
3. Do you need to transfer service?
If you have moved to a new service location in the Johnson County Wastewater service area, your previous location is serviced by this utility, you need the wastewater service for the old service location taken out of your name, please use the Transfer Service Form.
