2024 Health Summit Recap

Grpahic of a large group of people from all races and ethnicities.

On March 8, 2024, almost 90 community members came together for the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment's 2024 Health Summit. The 2024 Health Summit focused on bringing the community together to advance health equity and share the results of Johnson County’s Community Health Assessment in addition to launching the upcoming 2024 Community Health Improvement Planning process.

To ensure that a broad range of perspectives and experiences were in attendance and would inform the process, invitations were extended to people and organizations across the Johnson County community. Representatives of multiple sectors of the community attended the Health Summit including those working in education and early childcare, criminal justice, housing and social services, healthcare and managed care, civic boards and councils, advocacy and social justice groups, Johnson County Government leadership and local residents representative of populations experiencing health disparities.

JCDHE appreciates the thoughtful and productive conversations and ideas generated among attendees at the 2024 Health Summit. Only together can Johnson County advance towards health equity and create conditions and opportunities for health and well-being among all community members.
