Special events feature holiday fun for all

As the holiday season approaches, Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Department has a little something for everyone.

Upcoming special events include:

  • “Afternoon Tea” will kick off the fun at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village. Event includes traditional afternoon tea snacks, tea samples and interactive games. Cost is $15 per person, $16 for nonresidents.
  • “Game Day” is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse. Games include dominoes, hand and foot, and Mahjongg. Light refreshment provided. Cost is $3 per person, $4 for nonresidents
  • “Jingle Mingle” is set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park. Activities include festive games, spirited tunes and tasty treats. Cost is $12 per person, $14 for nonresidents
  • “Bring in the New Year” will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Drive. Celebration includes lunch, musical entertainment by Misty Town and six games of bingo. Cost is $15 per person, $17 for nonresidents.
