Johnson County Sustainability Coalition
Johnson County encourages sustainable and environmentally friendly practices throughout the community. To better promote the efforts of Johnson County and its government towards a more sustainable future, with a focus on reducing our environmental impact, promoting social responsibility, and fostering economic growth, the Board of County Commissioners established the Johnson County Sustainability Coalition.
The Coalition provides input, recommendations and advice to the Board regarding the development and ongoing activities pertaining to environmental stewardship for the community by addressing these topics:
- Energy and greenhouse emissions
- Natural systems
- Ecology
- Water
- Quality of life
- Transportation
- Solid waste

Members of the Coalition
The Johnson County Sustainability Coalition consists of up to 15 members, all of whom reside in the greater Kansas City region. Coalition members include community members, business leaders, academia and sustainability professionals.
