Volunteers needed to deliver meals

Johnson County's Home Delivered Meals program needs help in delivering hot nutritious meals Monday through Friday to homebound residents, ages 60 and older, and their spouses.

The Area Agency on Aging program by the Johnson County Aging & Human Services Department heavily relies on volunteers to deliver nearly 600 meals per day between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Home Delivered Meals utilizes 54 volunteers daily and is currently in need of both weekly as well as substitute (as needed) volunteers.

The greatest needs are in De Soto, Gardner, Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park and Spring Hill. Children are welcome to accompany an adult.

With just one hour a week you can make a difference in an older resident’s life. To volunteer please call Katie at 913-715-8895.
