Lunch guest: Let's meet Ike

Johnson County Park and Recreation 50 Plus Department will host a Lunch and Learn at Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Bill Nicks, first person reenactor, will come dressed as President Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower and share historical stories about D-Day, Brown vs Topeka Board of Education, his five brothers, Vietnam, Churchill, McCarthyism, The Interstate Highway System, the Cold War and much more.

Q&A will follow 45-minute presentation. In honor of Eisenhower’s love for hearty meals, attendees can enjoy a catered lunch with all the fixings in a socially inviting environment. The cost per Johnson County resident is $29/ $31 nonresident.
