Registration gets under way for CPR classes

A newly developed class, First Aid and CPR for Older Patients, will be offered a by Johnson County MED-ACT. Sign up for either Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Sunset Drive Office Building, 11811 Sunset Drive, Olathe, or Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.

The educational sessions, focusing on hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation, start at 9:30 a.m. and last approximately 60 minutes.

The presentations will discuss MED-ACT’s File of Life program providing emergency responders important information, “Do Not Resuscitate” orders, fall prevention and other tips on health safety.

Both classes are free and limited to 50 people in each session. Registration is available at connect.jocogov.org/cpr.

Additional sessions of First Aid and CPR for Older Patients will be organized, pending public interest, and offered at retirement communities if requested. More information about the MED-ACT program is available by calling 913-715-1951.
