Events welcome arrival of spring with fun

Get ready to celebrate the joy of spring with the Johnson County Park and Recreation District 50 Plus Program’s spring special events!

The events are specifically designed for aging adults who want to have a great time and connect with others in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

  • “Spring Tea Party” at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village. Event offers opportunities to enjoy tea and treats in a social gathering. Teacups are provided. Cost is $16/$17 nonresidents.
  • “50 Plus Egg Hunt” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Drive. This egg hunt is for 50 Plus ONLY. Participants are invited to search for hidden eggs outside the community center and enjoy refreshments inside the community center after the egg hunt. Cost is $11/$12 nonresidents.
  • “Grand Family Fun Event” (ages 5 and older with adult) at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Roeland Park Community Center. Fun-filled activities include grandparent-grandchild teaming up to build a craft and serving of light refreshments. Costs are $20/$22 nonresidents for children and $8/$9 for adults.
