Johnson County Government is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the spring 2023 session of Johnson County Academy.

"We are excited to welcome participants back to JoCo Academy in-person this year,” said County Manager Penny Postoak Ferguson. “JoCo Academy is a wonderful opportunity for people to get involved and learn more about what the county does."

Johnson County is a great place to live, work and raise a family. JoCo Academy allows community-minded individuals to discover what makes a high quality of life possible through behind the scenes tours and hands-on activities.

Participants will meet with county staff and elected officials, explore the county budget, learn about civic engagement, volunteer opportunities and tour various county facilities. Participants will receive a certificate after completing at least eight of the 10 sessions.

JoCo Academy is open to all Johnson County residents and employees. Registration is now open for the spring 2023 session. Visit jocogov.org/jocoacademy to register.

Each class supports 40 participants. The deadline to register is Wednesday, Feb. 15. The first session is Tuesday, March 7.

Questions can be emailed to jocoacademy@jocogov.org.
