Mental Health Diversion Program
The Mental Health Diversion Program is a joint effort between the Johnson County Mental Health Center (JCMHC) and the Johnson County District Attorney; the City of Olathe Prosecutor; and the City of Overland Park Prosecutor.
The Mental Health Diversion program may be available to clients struggling with Serious Mental Illness (SMI). The objective of the program is to directly support clients with their mental health treatment through a provider with JCMHC in lieu of further prosecution for their offense.
All questions regarding the mental health diversion program should be directed to the city prosecutor’s office or Johnson County District Attorney. Any questions about your legal situation should be shared with your legal representative.
JCMHC does not provide legal advice nor determines final eligibility for the diversion programs. The final determination of eligibility for mental health diversion will be at the discretion of the city prosecutor or the district attorney. For more information please call 913-715-3114.
