Social isolation affects many older adults in many ways
Everyone needs social connections to survive and thrive. But as people age, they often find themselves spending more time alone. Being alone may leave older adults more vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation.
COA meetings
The Johnson County Commission on Aging will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, and Feb. 14 in the Sunset Drive Office Building, 11811 S. Sunset Drive, Olathe.
Virtual classes are available on many topics
The Johnson County Department of Aging and Human Services is committed to supporting older adults by hosting virtual classes. While some classes are exclusively for Area Agency on Aging clients, others are open to the public.
