Health Care Facility Request

Johnson County MED-ACT's Nursing Home and Health Care Facility group works hand in hand with facilities across the Johnson County region to provide support and feedback about emergency processes, dialing 9-1-1 and clinical expectations during facility transports.

Critical Incident Stress Management Team

The Johnson County Critical Incident Stress Management Team, or JCCISMT, has been organized since 1987 to help support all emergency service personnel in Johnson County, Kansas through the effects of extreme events. Our main objective is to lessen the impact of an extreme event and accelerate the return of personnel to routine functioning. The team members are highly trained and dedicated emergency service peers and mental health professionals. They seek to understand the unique personalities of emergency personnel and the duties they perform.

Request Emergency Services Coverage for Events

Johnson County MED-ACT provides all Emergency Medical Services to over 590,000 citizens residing within Johnson County Kansas. MED-ACT is an Advanced Life Support based system that employs Kansas State certified paramedics under the direction of the Johnson County Medical Director. MED-ACT also provides medical coverage for scheduled events for a fee. Events that are usually covered by the department include 5Ks, marathons, duathlons, triathlons, parades, sporting events, fairs and community festivals.

Request Emergency Services Tours and Presentations

Johnson County Emergency Services staff and volunteers are available for presentations to businesses, homes associations, boy and girl scout meetings, etc. We also do tours of the Emergency Operations Center for interested groups.

CPR AED Training and Emergency Community Education

Training classes offered by Johnson County MED-ACT help residents to assist when an emergency strikes. CPR and AED training can truly make a difference in someone’s life. Recognition of the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, early activation of 9-1-1, bystander CPR and AED utilization can all dramatically impact a person’s chances of survival.
