With the November general election rapidly approaching, the Johnson County Election Office is reminding voters of the impending voter registration deadline.

“We want all eligible Johnson County residents to be able to make their voice heard in the upcoming election,” Johnson County Election Commissioner Fred Sherman said.

The deadline to register to vote or update voter registration is Oct. 17, 2023. To be eligible to register to vote, you must be a United States citizen, a Johnson County resident, and 18 years old on or before Election Day.

In addition, voters must review and update their voter registration if they have recently changed their address, name, or political party affiliation.

“Updating your political party affiliation is not crucial in a non-partisan election like this upcoming election but it is beneficial to keep your registration updated for next year’s elections,” Sherman said.

Election Day is Nov. 7, 2023. Voters can register to vote and update their registration online at jocoelection.org/registration or in person at the Johnson County Election Office located at 2101 E. Kansas City Rd. in Olathe.
