JCPRD offering holiday tree recycling Dec. 26-Jan. 31

Got a natural Christmas tree? You can recycle your tree after the holidays at four Johnson County Park and Recreation District locations Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

Tree recycling is free and open to anyone regardless of residency. Drop off your tree at one of these JCPRD locations:

  • Theatre in the Park, 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee Mission (just north of the main entrance of Shawnee Mission Park)
  • Heritage Park, 16000 Pflumm Road, Olathe (marina parking lot)
  • Kill Creek Park, 11670 Homestead Lane, Olathe (marina parking lot)
  • Big Bull Creek Park, 20425 Sunflower Road, Edgerton

The sites are open during regular winter park hours, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Shawnee Mission Park opens at 6 a.m.

Only natural Christmas trees will be accepted. Please remove all wrappers and decorations from your tree before recycling it.
