Input from the public sought on 2024 Action Plan on federal funding for Community Development Block Grant and HOME partnership program

Members of the public will have the opportunity to share their thoughts this fall on 2024 funding for the Community Development Block Grant and HOME partnership program.

The Community Development and Housing Offices are presenting their proposed 2024 Annual Action Plan for a 30-day public review and comment period, which began on September 14 and runs through October 14. During this period, members of the public will have the opportunity to provide input on proposed uses of the 2024 Community Development Block Grant and HOME program funding.

The programs provide federal funding for public service assistance, community development projects that provide a suitable living environment, and assisting eligible homeowners of Johnson County, Kansas with rehabilitation needs of their owner-occupied homes.

The proposed annual plan and all information relevant to the public hearing is available for review online.

A public hearing will take place on the proposed plan on Thursday, Oct. 19, during the regular Board of County Commissioners meeting, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Hearing Room at the County Administration Building, 111 S. Cherry St., in Olathe.
