On Thursday, Nov. 9, the Board of County Commissioners recognized Colleen Good, volunteer with Johnson County Aging and Human Services, as the 2023 Peg Deaton Award recipient.

Every year, the Peg Deaton Award is given to recognize individuals and organizations in the community for outstanding contributions that enhance the quality of life for older adults and their families through dedication and vision. The Johnson County Commission on Aging presents this award each fall.

Colleen accepted the award during Thursday's Board meeting. A volunteer with Aging and Human Services since 2012, she has gone above and beyond, investing her time and talents to better the lives of others.

Colleen currently volunteers in three different county programs where she delivers meals, fills orders at the Southwest Multi-Service Center Food pantry, and helps office staff with administrative duties.

Colleen has donated over 800 volunteer hours in the past year.
