Art classes continue into winter

Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Program offers a variety of weekly on-going art programs.

Participants can work at their own pace and learn techniques, styles and tips with individual instruction and peer assistance provided across multiple types of mediums.

Painter’s Palette classes are offered weekly at Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell Ave., Overland Park, on Mondays and Fridays, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park, offers watercolor classes on Tuesdays and Painter’s Palette on Wednesdays with a new instructor. Classes start at 1:30 p.m.

Classes are on-going and use a punch card. A five-punch art card is $57 for Johnson County residents and $63 for nonresidents. A 10-punch art card is $109 for Johnson County residents and $120 for nonresidents.
