Reconstruction of t-hangars at Johnson County Executive Airport is set to begin in 2024.

The Kilo and Lima hangars at the airport were originally constructed in the early 1970s and are well past their useful life expectancy.

Last year, the Airport Commission approved a plan to move forward with a complete rebuild of the hangars.

Both the Airport Commission and the Board of County Commissioners approved a contract with a vendor to complete the demolition and reconstruction of the hangar buildings in the spring/summer of 2024.

Johnson County Executive Airport is located at 151st Street and Pflumm Road, between the cities of Olathe and Overland Park. With over 40,000 annual operations and approximately 120 based aircraft, it's the fourth busiest towered airport in the state of Kansas.
