Three travel opportunities remain in 2021

Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Travel Program still has space available on the last three tours of the year, including:

  • Social Outing: “Holiday Boutique at the Overland Park Convention Center on Friday, Nov. 19, with lunch before holiday shopping. Lunch cost is not included in the trip fee. Cost is $25 residents/$27 nonresidents. Six-hour outing departs at 11 a.m.
  • Day Trip: “Innovations on Route 66” with travel on Thursday, Nov. 18, to Joplin, Mo. to learn about the city’s mining history and tour the George Washington Carver Museum. Cost is $84 per person, lunch included. Twelve hour outing departs at 6:30 a.m.
  • Day Trip: “Once Upon a Time in Hiawatha” on Tuesday, Nov. 30, with tour the Davis Memorial. After lunch, participants will visit the Brown County Historical Society and Ag Museum. Cost is $73, lunch included. Nine-hour outing departs at 9 a.m.

All trips depart from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch Road, Merriam. Transportation for social outings is a 14-passenger minibus. Transportation for daytrips is either a 30 or 50 passenger motorcoach.
