Media Relations

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office Public Information Office serves as the center for public and media by disseminating information through multiple outlets including news, web and social media. 

The Public Information Office is responsible for gathering and distributing news to media outlets throughout the greater Kansas City area as well as across the State of Kansas, and the United States. Our staff responds to questions about the many Johnson County Sheriff’s Office public events, programs, public issues and emergency events. 

The Public Information Office is a multifaceted section with many responsibilities including: internal information dissemination through periodicals, designing multimedia productions, Sheriff’s Office function photography, as well as answering questions from citizens and the media, writing press releases, social media and coordinating media events. 

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to being transparent by providing the public with information about who we are, what we do, why we do it and how we do it.
