Accreditation

ANSI National Accreditation Board Logo

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office Criminalistics Laboratory is accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, an internationally accepted standard for testing and calibration laboratories. Our laboratory was the first full-service public laboratory in our region (Kansas and our surrounding states) to achieve this level of accreditation. The laboratory’s current scope and status of accreditation can be found by searching for us on our accrediting body’s website.

Accreditation is an important step which demonstrates to our users that we are recognized by an objective, external body to be compliant to a set of standards recognized within our community, across our country, and around the world. The laboratory has been continuously accredited since 1999 and has made a dedicated effort to maintain that status to help produce the highest quality and unbiased forensic science test results for the community in Johnson County and beyond.
