Friday, Sept. 4 is deadline for Johnson County businesses and organizations to request free PPE

The deadline is approaching for Johnson County businesses and organizations to request Personal Protective Equipment made available by the state of Kansas. Requests for a 90-day supply of the following items need to be made by this Friday, Sept. 4.

  • Disposable masks
  • Face shields
  • Cloth reusable (washable) gowns

The Kansas Division of Emergency Management released a supply of PPE to Johnson County on July 14 for distribution to businesses and community organizations. The county secured a warehouse and staff and began fulfilling requests on July 15. To date, Johnson County has received more than 1,000 requests and has distributed more than two million pieces of PPE.

“We're glad so many Johnson County organizations and businesses have taken the opportunity to secure a 90-day supply of these items and we're hoping many more will submit a request,” said Dan Robeson, Johnson County emergency manager.

There is no cost to receive the PPE. For more information or to request items, visit jocogov.org/ppe.
