Application Information

To apply for an academic field experience at the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, please review the student guidelines below and complete a student application.

Undergraduates

A signed memorandum of understanding is required for placement within our department. Space is limited.

Graduates

A signed memorandum of understanding is required for placement within our department. Space is limited.

High School Seniors

The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is eager to work with our local school districts to develop a program for your students!

Community Outreach

JCDHE offers free presentations, tours of our two Olathe locations, and phone interviews with staff (as required by university degree programs).

Administration and Billing

The Administration and Billing Operations Division supports all Department Divisions through fiscal monitoring, grants coordination and reporting, budgeting, auditing, accounting, billing, payroll, and data entry.

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping concerns can be directed to the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment- Environmental Division. Health and Environment staff will not clean-up the incident but can provide direction on how to clean it up, possible enforcement action, and provide guidance on proper solid waste management.

Swimming Facility Complaint

Report issues, concerns and complaints to the Johnson County Environmental Division concerning air quality, illegal dumping, public swimming pools and spas, septic systems, solid waste, water quality and other matters.
