As part of the countywide strategy to stop COVID-19, Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is providing saliva tests to Johnson County K-12 schools. The saliva tests are COVID-19 diagnostic tests, and they are intended to be a testing option for schools to administer to students and/or staff.
For a video tutorial on how to complete a saliva test, please view the CRL Rapid Response How-To Instructional Video. This video covers what is needed to complete a saliva test, the steps for collecting the sample from a student and/or staff, and how to secure a completed sample kit.
The testing supplies and processing services are provided by Clinical Reference Laboratory, Inc. (CRL). CRL has received Emergency Use Authorization from the Federal Drug Administration for the COVID-19 diagnostic test that utilizes saliva from individuals.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the JCDHE epidemiologist contact assigned to your school.
