Fire sprinkler line break in new Johnson County Courthouse – closed today

A fire sprinkler line break occurred in the new Johnson County Courthouse, 150 W. Santa Fe St., Olathe, at 6:36 a.m., today, due to freezing temperatures. Prompt response by the Olathe Fire Department and county staff limited the water flow, however a portion of the second and first floors suffered water damage.  The building is closed to the public while crews are onsite repairing the damage. The building is expected to reopen to the public tomorrow.

There will be no interruption in the services provided by the court since they are operating virtually.
