Johnson County will offer three cooling centers during the Juneteenth holiday when other public buildings are closed. The cooling centers will be open regardless of weather. Phone charging will be available at the facilities.

The three cooling centers available on Friday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. will include:

• Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W. 75th St., in Overland Park.
• Redemption Church, 515 S. Ridgeview Road, in Olathe.
• Salvation Army, 420 E. Santa Fe St., in Olathe.

These additional cooling centers will supplement other cooling centers in Johnson County that are only open during their host building’s normal operating business hours, which typically do not include holidays. They will be activated in partnership with host sites, Johnson County Government and United Community Services of Johnson County.
