Share your memories of the DeSoto Library for its 40th anniversary

As Johnson County Library staff and patrons are talking about enhancements to the DeSoto Library, they’re also marking the library's 40th anniversary.

Visitors have a chance to be a part of the anniversary on their next trip to the library. A poster is available in the library for patrons to write their memories, which the Johnson County Library will then share to its social media accounts.

Meanwhile, staff recently conducted listening sessions and a survey to consider how to improve smaller library buildings, like the one that has been home to the DeSoto Library since 1982.

More than 350 residents shared their thoughts and suggestions, and now staff are working with local architects to consider creative ways to make the most of the spaces.

The Library hopes to share initial results from this collaboration with the community this fall. Among the ideas being explored are the creation of additional meeting spaces and ways to expand hours and access.
