A public input opportunity is coming up this fall, during which you can share your thoughts on 2023 federal funding for community development.

The Community Development Office will present its proposed 2023 Annual Action Plan for a 30-day public review and comment period, taking place Oct. 8-Nov. 6, 2022.

During this period, you will be able to provide input on proposed uses of the 2023 CDBG and HOME program funding. These programs provide federal funding for implementation of affordable housing and community development opportunities, in support of low-to-moderate income residents.

A public hearing will take place on the proposed plan on Nov. 10 during the regular Board of County Commissioners meeting, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Third Floor Hearing Room at the County Administration Building, 111 S. Cherry St. Olathe, KS.

You can also submit comments in writing to the Community Development Coordinator in Suite 2000 of the County Administration Building, by phone at 913-715-2245, fax at 913-715-2222 or email at cdbg@jocogov.org. Keep in mind you must submit your comments by Nov. 6, 2022 or at the Nov. 10, 2022 public hearing.

All comments will be included in the final 2023 Action Plan prior to submitting the Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

View a copy of the 2023 Action Plan online, or at the Community Development Office, Suite 2000 at the County Administration Building between Oct. 8 and Nov. 6, 2022.
