Overland Park Christian Church to serve as a warming center on New Year’s Day

Many warming centers located in Johnson County are only open during their host building’s normal operating business hours, which typically does not include holidays.

On the upcoming New Year’s Day, Overland Park Christian Church (7600 W. 75th Street) will serve as a warming center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. regardless of weather conditions that day.

This warming center will be activated in partnership with Johnson County Government and United Community Services of Johnson County.

Project 1020 (9400 Pflumm, Lenexa in the south wing of Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church) opens at 6 p.m. for overnight sheltering and has the capability to provide transportation to their facility.

Information on other warming centers in Johnson County is available at jocogov.org/winter.
