The public is invited to attend an open house on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, to learn about the Johnson County Transportation Connection Plan — Southwest Metro Area.

The open house is scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on June 11 at the De Soto Community Center Gym, 32905 W. 84th St., in De Soto.

There will not be a formal presentation, so attendees may come any time between 5:30 and 8 p.m. to meet with the project team and discuss the findings and recommendations for the plan.

The plan is being developed in response to the ongoing redevelopment of the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plan into the Astra Enterprise Park. With this transformation, coordinated transportation network is necessary to support future roadway needs and regional connectivity.

The Transportation Plan is a collaborative effort that was led by Johnson County, the Kansas Department of Transportation and the City of De Soto and also included Douglas County and the cities of Gardner, Edgerton and Olathe.
