JCDHE moving COVID-19 vaccination clinic to Mission starting August 2

Starting Aug. 2 the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) is moving its COVID-19 vaccinations to the Mission office located at 6000 Lamar Ave. Anyone needing a first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can walk-in Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also locate a nearby vaccine provider by visiting vaccines.gov, texting your zip code to 438829 or calling 1-800-232-0233.

While the Mission office will serve as the primary vaccination site, individuals being seen for other services at the department’s Olathe walk-in clinic can also get a COVID-19 vaccination.

“We are fortunate to have three vaccines that are safe, highly effective and widely available in Johnson County for free,” says Dr. Sanmi Areola, JCDHE director. “As the Delta variant continues to infect more and more of our residents, we urge everyone age 12 and older to get vaccinated at one of our clinics, your doctor’s office or at a nearby pharmacy.”

JCDHE reports that, among the eligible population age 12 years and older in Johnson County, 55.7% are at least partially vaccinated and 50.6% are fully vaccinated. Current JCDHE vaccination efforts are shown on the COVID-19 dashboard.

Those with questions about vaccinations can contact jcdhe@jocogov.org or by phone at 913-715-2819 or visit jocogov.org/covid-19-vaccine.
