Johnson County’s County Auditor's Office has conducted a performance audit on Contractor Licensing's payment processing, assessing whether contractor payments were properly processed, documented and recorded as outlined in county policies.

This audit finds these processes were implemented and working as intended. It also noted county management is working to replace the permit and license system, and it recommends including requirements for a new system to interface with the financial management system.

Audit Services conducts performance audits on a regular basis. Audits provide an independent, objective assessment of the stewardship, performance or cost of policies, programs or operations, and are essential to government accountability to the public.

The purpose of audits can vary, depending on the scope of the audit and the audit objectives. You can view previous year’s reports on the Audit Reports webpage.
