Johnson County’s Audit Services has conducted a performance audit about the impact of changes in procurement thresholds. A resolution from the Board of County Commissioners required the audit.

Procurement thresholds help standardize the county’s process for purchasing goods and services. The county’s new procurement thresholds are designed to control spending and encourage responsible use of funds. The audit provides recommendations to improve compliance and strengthen controls.

Audit Services conducts performance audits on a regular basis. Audits provide an independent, objective assessment of the stewardship, performance or cost of policies, programs or operations, and are essential to government accountability to the public.

The purpose of audits can vary, depending on the scope of the audit and the audit objectives. You can view previous year’s reports on the Audit Reports webpage.
