2022 Johnson County Fair gets underway - visit the Johnson County Government booth

With a theme of “Carnival Lights and Country Nights,” the 2022 Johnson County Fair is scheduled from July 31 to Aug. 6, in downtown Gardner. During the fair, residents can stop by the Johnson County Government booth to win a prize, learn about local Government and more.

The annual fair includes lots of fun, food, livestock, exhibits, entertainment and attractions throughout the week.

Fair goers can visit the Johnson County booth in the Commercial Building to test your trivia skills and answer questions about Johnson County with our Spin-to-Win wheel for candy or prizes. The booth will be staffed Tuesday, Aug. 2, through Saturday, Aug. 6.

At the booth, students in first through 12th grades also can learn more about an “I Love My County Because” art content by the National Association of Counties. A Johnson County-specific entry form will be available to help young residents submit their drawings to the competition. NACo will select 13 submissions and award each winning artist a $100 prize. The contest runs through Oct. 7, 2022.

Johnson County plans to include some students’ artwork in the quarterly JoCo Magazine and feature selected art in the county’s social media pages. Eligible participants are also encouraged to share their submissions on social media with the hashtag #ILoveJoCo.
