The public is invited to attend an open house to learn about the Johnson County Transportation Connection Plan — Southwest Metro Area. The open house will place at the De Soto Community Center Gym, 32905 W. 84th St., in De Soto.

There will not be a formal presentation, so attendees may come any time between 5:30 and 8 p.m. to meet with the project team and discuss the findings and recommendations for the plan.

About the Transportation Connection Plan

The Transportation Connection Plan is being developed in response to the ongoing redevelopment of the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plan into the Astra Enterprise Park. With this transformation, coordinated transportation network is necessary to support future roadway needs and regional connectivity.

The plan is a collaborative effort that was led by Johnson County, the Kansas Department of Transportation and the City of De Soto and also included Douglas County and the cities of Gardner, Edgerton and Olathe. Learn more about the Transportation Connection Plan.
