Housing and Community Development CAPER and Needs Assessment Virtual Public Hearing

The first hearing will be on the draft of the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.

The CAPER describes how Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds were used to accomplish program objectives during 2021.  The draft CAPER is available at the Community Development Office, 11811 S. Sunset Drive, Suite 1300, Olathe, Kansas, or on the County’s web site at: https://www.jocogov.org/department/community-development/community-development-reports. Citizens are invited to examine the CAPER and to provide comments on the contents through March 9, 2022.  Comments may be mailed to the Community Development Coordinator, 11811 S. The second hearing will be on the Housing and community development needs of low-to moderate-income residents to be addressed by the CDBG and HOME programs in 2023. The hearing will gather input to assess the community development and housing needs of extremely low to moderate income residents and propose plans and programs to meet those needs in cooperation with cities and county departments or other bodies, both public and private, for consideration by the BOCC. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, due to social distancing requirements during the coronavirus health crisis, to avoid in-person meetings, the public hearings shall be conducted as an online meeting by a medium of interactive communication (Zoom Webinar).

PARTICIPATION: Details and instructions regarding how the public can participate in the Zoom online meeting will be posted on the County website one week prior to the public hearings.
