Johnson County Government will be following the vaccine distribution plan created by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The plan is available here: https://www.kansasvaccine.gov/DocumentCenter/View/121/Vaccine-Prioritization-Slides-PDF
The plan includes prioritization tiers, but how that is rolled out depends on how much vaccine the state of Kansas receives. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) all adults should be able to get vaccinated later in 2021. However, a COVID-19 vaccine may not be available for young children until more studies are completed.
Announcements about vaccine distribution will be sent to local media and posted on our website and social media when information becomes available.
