Department News

Beginning January 1st, fee applied to Commercial TCO extensions
November 30, 2018

Beginning January 1, 2019, all approved Commercial permit temporary certificate of occupancy extension requests, will be assessed a $100 fee. Please see code regulations excerpt below:

2012 Johnson County Code of Regulations. Article 2 of the International Building Code amendments.

a) Section 111.3 Temporary Occupancy.  A 60-day temporary certificate may be issued for interior items and a 90-day temporary certificate may be issued for exterior items upon request from the owner or contractor, subject to the approval of the Building Code Official.  Additional time may be granted by the Building Code Official upon written request and for a fee of $100.00.
