The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) offers a variety of unpaid, academic field experiences that provide opportunities for skills practice or shadowing of public health professionals, as well as free presentations on numerous public health topics.
Academic field experiences (internships, practicums, rotations, or shadowships) require a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be on file with the Education Coordinator, and are completed on-site, at one or more of the following locations:
Presentations are provided both on and off-site by our subject matter experts in each of our eight divisions, and can vary in length of time:
- Business Operations
- Child Care Licensing
- Community Health
- Environmental Health
- Health Services
- Medical Examiner’s Office
- Strategic Planning
Additionally, information sessions and tours of our facilities can be provided for you to learn more about JCDHE programs and services.
