Kansas Supreme Court Rule 172 permits Hearing Officers to preside over summary administrative hearings for enforcement and modification of child support/maintenance orders, enforcement of parenting time, enforcement of visitation orders, the establishment of support orders in limited cases, and birth certificate changes. Orders to change custody must be heard by the District Court Judge assigned to the case.
