Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) will be holding open interviews 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 for jobseekers who are interested in joining our team as a direct support professional (DSP). The job fair will take place at the Johnson County Administration Building, 111. S. Cherry St. in Olathe, Kan.
Direct support professionals play a crucial role in supporting people with IDD in their quest to live and work in the community, rather than institutional settings.
Depending on where they work, DSPs perform a multitude of tasks including personal care, job coaching, appropriate medical/physical care, behavioral guidance, skills teaching, help with household tasks and so much more.
The starting pay for a DSP employed with Johnson County Government is $15.07 an hour, and employees receive access to a competitive wage structure, wellness offerings, a comprehensive benefits package, and tuition reimbursement.
