Purpose: Citizens Academy seeks to: (1) enhance citizen knowledge of county operations and services (2) encourage a unified community identity and, (3) increase participation in Johnson County boards, advisory councils, and commissions.
Description: Johnson County residents recognize it is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The Johnson County Citizens Academy Program (CAP) allows community-minded individuals to discover what makes our high quality of life possible through behind the scene tours, hands-on activities, and conversations with county elected officials and staff. Come visit with commissioners, explore the county budget, learn about civic engagement/volunteer opportunities, and tour various county facilities! Upon completion of at least 8 of the 10 sessions, participants will receive a certificate.
