Documents recorded between 1920 to 1987, as well as plats between 1866 to present, are now available.

Technology on this site uses common .tif image viewers available as a default on most personal computers. However, if you experience issues viewing or printing images, a free .tif viewer, AlternaTIFF, is available for download at https://alternatiff.com/install/.

The Johnson County Register of Deeds Office is transitioning to a new recording software system, Enterprise Records Management (ERM), with an anticipated go live in fall of 2026. In preparation for this transition, we will no longer offer a subscription service beginning July 1, 2026. Current subscribers of the Johnson County Register of Deeds Document Library will continue to have uninterrupted access until our new system is live.

Once ERM is live, all current Johnson County Public Access subscribers, as well as anyone seeking access to our document library will need to create a new account on our Johnson County Records Public Access site. The link to the new site along with additional details for utilizing the site will be made available closer to implementation of the new system. There will be no cost to create an account or to view watermarked images in the new document library. Fees will apply only if a user chooses to print or certify documents, and those payments will be processed directly through the system at the time of the transaction.
