Johnson County Mental Health Center delivers alcohol, tobacco and other drug presentations and in-service trainings to the community, staff and Johnson County schools. 

ASIST

ASIST

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is for caregivers who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. ASIST is a resource for the whole community. It helps people apply suicide first-aid in many settings: with family, friends, co-workers, teammates and formal caregiving roles.

Kansas Tobacco Retailer Training

Under 21. No tobacco. No vapor. We card. Please have ID ready.

The Kansas Tobacco Retailer Training is a program for individuals who have been cited for selling tobacco products to minors. The Tobacco Retailer Training Program consists of data/statistics regarding tobacco use among youth, an overview of Kansas State Statute regarding tobacco: unlawful acts and penalties, proper procedures to use to determine age, valid forms of identification, refusal skills and tools for assistance. Trainings take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is an interactive 8-hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common treatments. 

The Training For Intervention Procedures (TIPS) is an alcohol intervention program that trains individuals to serve and/or sell alcohol responsibly in any setting. The purpose of TIPS is to help people create the kind of environment that promotes safety and responsibility wherever alcohol is sold. Included in this training is a review of proper procedure to use to determine age and valid forms of identification.
